Leadership Development Through the Arts
We are currently taking registrations for the next Leadership Development through Art Program. This program is offered quarterly to students ages 15 and up to age 20. Its purpose is help participants develop their leadership and customer service skills then apply those skills by having the opportunity to share with others. The foundation for the leadership development is based on seven basic principles: 1. Principle of Design 2. Principle of Authority 3. Principle of Responsibility 4. Principle of Sowing & Reaping 5. Principle of Stewardship 6. Principle of Freedom 7. Principle of Fulfillment Each week we focus on a principle and then apply it to an art. For example: Week one will focus on the Principle of Design. You are designed to be a rebuilder and walk in favor. What happens in life is that when we come against the rights of individuals it creates fractured relationships and will eventually show up in life as not being able to get justice in business dealings, relationships, and/or the workplace. This program teaches participants how to build a solid foundation for the purpose to build on with the other six principles. We then get to have some fun and apply that principle to art. Participants find this really fun and rewarding. Program objectives: * Discover your leadership abilities through self-discovery and art; * Learn the seven foundational principles and how to apply them to your personal life, school & and workplace; * Discover your natural gifts, what your strengths and weaknesses are and how to apply a weakness as strength; * Prepare for the workplace by learning customer service skills. Because we believe in you as a future leader, we want to sow into your future. The Leadership Development Through Art Program awards a $1,000 College Tuition Scholarship to a graduating senior or recent graduate that has successfully completed the 7-week program and met the requirements. For more information, please contact the program coordinator, Norma Umphress, at 883-7316. This is a really fun and rewarding class. Participants can receive school credit for SERVE and/or their senior project when approved by their school. Register now, as the next class will begin on September 13, 2010.
